Alexandra Maria Lara was born in Romania. She is an actor from Romania and Germany. Her most well-known movies include Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control. As the only child of Romanian acting star Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra got into the world of show business early, and ended up acting in lead roles on various shows on television by the time she was sixteen. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role of Secretary to Adolf Hitler Traudl Junge, in the commercially and critically profitable Oscar nominated war-time drama film Downfall. Additional Oscar nominated movies featuring the famous diva are The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex. Alexandra is engaged in numerous important projects both locally and internationally. These include British biographical film Control Greek drama film The Dust of Time and French historical mini-series Napoleon as well as other miniseries. In addition, she has been an official juror for the Transylvania International Film Festival as in the Cannes Film Festival.
